Actasys Inc. Awarded Research Grant from U.S. Department of Energy for High Performance Computing for Manufacturing in Collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Actasys has been awarded a $300,000 research grant from the Department of Energy in support of a collaboration with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as part of the High Performance Computing for Manufacturing (HPC4Mfg) program.
The collaboration with ORNL will focus on the optimization of Actasys’ core technology: the synthetic jet actuators within their Active Flow Control system. ORNL will support Actasys by conducting studies using its high performance computer named Titan, ranked as the third biggest supercomputer in the world.
The program selectees included several world-leading organizations such as Rolls-Royce, General Electric Global Research Center, and General Motors. The official press release of the Department of Energy can be found at:

This invitation-only event will convene the full spectrum of early-stage and growth-stage investors, startup companies, and venture development organizations to provide a premier networking opportunity for cleantech companies and investors.  The Showcase looks to curate and drive quality cleantech deal flow from NYSERDA’s portfolio for the investment community.
